Arrival & Dismissal Procedures:

·       Upon entrance into the building, students will travel in one direction from classroom 1 to classroom 4 and around from classroom 5 towards the gym (completing the loop). 

·       Arrows are posted on the floor to remind students/staff of the hallway directions. 

·       Social distancing signage is also on the floor throughout the building and bus loop to remind students and staff to maintain 6ft distancing.

 

Face Covering:

·       Face coverings are required for all persons in a BCPS facility or vehicle as well as on BCPS property.  Face coverings are required during transportation to/from school on a bus as well as outdoors on campuses.

·       Each school, office, and school bus will have a supply of disposable face coverings for students and employees who forget their face covering or whose face covering becomes soiled or damaged.                                                                                     

Screening & Stay Home When Appropriate:

·       All employees and students are expected to screen themselves daily for symptoms of COVID-19.

·       Remain home if you have symptoms, confirmed COVID-19 illness, had recent contact with a person with COVID-19 and/or awaiting test results.

·       Parents will receive a screening checklist and magnet with the screening practices.

 

Social Distancing:

·       Classroom furniture is arranged to provide 6-feet separation between students, when possible.

·       Reduce gathering of students in any area – refer to changes in arrival and dismissal procedures and movement in the hallways.

Hand Hygiene:

·       Times for handwashing or use of hand sanitizer to include before and after meals, upon arrival to schools’ offices and home, before and after use of any shared items, after use of the restroom, after sneezing/coughing and other time hands are contaminated.

·       Hand sanitizer is in every room and throughout the building.

 

Breakfast & Lunch:

*All meals are *free of charge* for ALL students, through June 2021 – that includes breakfast and lunch.

·       All students will have access to breakfast. All breakfast meals are cold and there will only be 1 option (with 4 items). Breakfast will be placed in students homebase classrooms each morning by our designated food and nutrition staff liaison.

·        Lunch will be only served to students who request it. Lunches will have hot-meal days and cold-meal days. However, there will still only be 1 option per day (with 5 items). All lunch meals will still be “ordered” from Catonsville High School. Homebase teachers will collect the lunch count and report it to the office secretary who will contact CHS’s cafeteria manager to place the daily lunch order. 

·       All meals will be consumed in students homebase classrooms.

·       Meals will be delivered via a cart to homebase classrooms. A designated food table has been identified in each class.  One-by-one, students will retrieve their meal. Once all meals have collected and students have had an opportunity to return to their desk, all students will commence eating.

·       The homebase teacher will track meal distribution and keep a tally count of all meals distributed.

*At this time, no snacks are provided or encouraged due to our required mask mandate.

*Allergy considerations will be handled on a per-student basis.

Visitors:

*Visitors to building will be minimized as much as possible.

·       To visit a BCPS school, visitors must have an appointment.

·       Visits will be conducted remotely or outside, whenever possible.

·       If an indoor visit is required, visitors will be required to wear a face coverings and practice social distancing.

·       The number of people admitted to the building will be limited.

As stated in the BCPS Reopening plan, families who have selected virtual learning or not responded to the return to school survey, will have ongoing opportunities to update their choices and choose in-person hybrid learning. Our staff will be able to accommodate requests, make necessary arrangements and work with transportation (if applicable) to ensure a smooth transition back to school. Greetings CCFAS Family,

I hope you and your families continue to be safe.  I wanted to make sure you were aware that we are going virtual from September 8, 2020-January 29, 2021. As stated in the draft plan, we are in the process of developing a virtual bell schedule for at least the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year.  In developing our virtual schedule, we are moving to a semester schedule (i.e., students take four classes in the first semester and four classes in the second semester instead of taking eight classes all year). We believe this will be the best option for our students based on feedback, a good transition for our incoming 9th graders, and our teachers will be able to focus more time on planning for instruction.  The virtual bell schedule for our school will be released the later this month once it is officially approved.  As we transition to providing instruction in this virtual environment, we will adhere to the following parameters:

  • The virtual school day will start no earlier than 8:00 AM and end no later than 3:00 PM.
  • Teachers and staff will be on duty Monday through Friday, with Wednesdays being held for: targeted interventions, synchronous/asynchronous instruction, collaborative planning, and/or professional learning.
  • Teachers will take student attendance daily and for each synchronous class period on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  
  • Teachers will adhere to traditional grading and reporting procedures as outlined in BCPS policy.
